Dr. Shiao Woo is a board-certified radiation oncologist specializing in treatment of brain tumors and pediatric radiation oncology. Dr. Woo served as residency program director at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and later as section chief and leader of their proton center. He also started the stereotactic radiosurgery program at Baylor University Medical Center.

Dr. Woo earned his medical degree from the University of Malaysia. He completed a clinical internship at Ipoh General Hospital in Malaysia and residencies in internal medicine at Johor Baru General Hospital in Malaysia, pediatrics at Southern General Hospital in Scotland, and radiation therapy at Stanford University Medical Center in California. Dr. Woo’s clinical and research interests include tumors of the blood, bone, nervous system, and soft tissue.

His numerous awards include Clinical Fellowship Awards from the American Cancer Society, the ESTRO Phillips Travel Fellowship, Teacher of the Year Award from the Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology, Best Doctors of America, and the Patient Golden Apple Award from the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
