Dr. Cox was drawn to practice medicine because both his parents suffered from polio. The experience left him very aware of the need for quality healthcare. He is dedicated to addressing all the effects of cancer and each patient’s unique needs.
Dr. Cox earned a medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed his residency in radiation oncology with the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. While at the University of Texas, he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, an academic honor society.
He is board-certified in radiation oncology and his professional associations include membership in the Texas Medical Association, Texas Radiological Society, and American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology. He was published in the Texas Medical Association magazine Texas Medicine, Symposium on Cancer topic of Modern Radiotherapy in September 2010. His professional associations include the American College of Radiology, the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, and the American Endocurietherapy Society.
