Curtis Clark, Ph.D., M.D.

Curtis A. Clark, M.D., Ph.D., is a radiation oncologist with Alliance Cancer Care.

Dr. Clark attended The University of Texas at Tyler, where he received both undergraduate (B.S.) and graduate (M.S.) degrees. During this time, Dr. Clark also served as the president of the Tri-Beta Honor Society and as a member of the collegiate basketball and cross country teams. Subsequently, he pursued a combined MD/PhD at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, participating in the NIH-designated Medical Scientist Training Program. His doctoral research investigated immune checkpoint regulation and novel therapeutic targets in cancer.

He completed residency training in radiation oncology at the NCCN- designated O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Alabama Birmingham, where he served as Chief Resident.

His passion for translational and clinical investigations in the field of immuno- oncology persisted throughout his training, marked by acceptance into the American Board of Radiology’s Holman Research Fellowship Pathway. During this time, his research focused on immunotherapy, DNA damage response signaling, and combined modality treatments with radiation therapy to improve cancer outcomes.

Acknowledged for his contributions, Dr. Clark has garnered numerous awards, published high-impact research articles, and presented his findings at national and international conferences. He has been an active member of many professional societies such as the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO), the American Board of Radiology (ABR), the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), and the American Association of Immunologists (AAI).

Dr. Clark provides care for many cancer types to patients of all ages. He has received training in several radiation therapy treatment modalities, including stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), and high dose-rate brachytherapy (HDR brachytherapy). Dr. Clark is deeply committed to advancing the treatment of cancer and highly values the multidisciplinary approach in oncology, viewing it as a privilege to offer comprehensive, individualized, and compassionate care to his patients.

Dr. Clark lives in the area with his wife and three kids. In his spare time he most enjoys various outdoor pursuits and traveling with his family, shadetree mechanics and tinkering, and time as a musical hobbyist. He has two dogs, a griffon named Ellie and a bird dog named Kip, a cat that mostly ignores him, and a few too many backyard chickens.
