Medical Physicist

Simeon P. Hodges, III

Simeon has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years and joined the Columbus CyberKnife treatment team in June 2010.

He earned a degree in mathematics and a degree in general physics from the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky, and received his Master of Medical Physics from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.  He has been board-certified by the American Board of Radiology since 2006.

Simeon loves to help people, especially making them feel better.  Being in the healthcare industry allows him to use this emotional drive to give patients the best treatment available.  The CyberKnife® System at Columbus Cyberknife allows him to not only help patients feel better but also does it safely and effectively.  In his opinion, the CyberKnife® also allows him to give the best radiation treatments for cancer patients.

What Simeon loves most about his role as a Medical Physicist is the ability to transform many moving parts into a delicate dance to treat a disease that is inside a patient.  To be able to conform the cancer-killing radiation to the tumor or disease site, while sparing healthy critical structures nearby.  Treating patients on the CyberKnife® allows him to be able to achieve both of these objectives.

In his spare time, Simeon enjoys spending time with his family and staying active.  He likes being outside, especially hiking, which allows him to be with nature and enjoy the sites, smells, and feel of the outdoors.
