Imaging Services Available in Port Charlotte

MRI clinic

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

Our Port Charlotte center offers 3T wide-bore MRI and 1.5T MRI, delivering high-resolution imaging for evaluating the brain, spine, joints, and soft tissues. MRI uses powerful magnets and radiofrequency waves to produce detailed images without radiation, making it an essential tool for diagnosing neurological conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, and soft tissue abnormalities.

The wide-bore MRI design provides additional space and a more comfortable experience, helping reduce anxiety for patients who may feel confined during traditional scans while maintaining excellent image quality for accurate diagnosis. These advanced systems support both routine and complex imaging needs with precision and consistency.

Additional Exams:

  • MRI Brain with NeuroQuant – Provides detailed brain volume analysis for neurological evaluation
  • MRI Prostate with OnQ – Offers high-resolution imaging for prostate cancer detection and assessment
  • Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) – Evaluates blood vessels and circulation
PET/CT Imaging

PET/CT Imaging

PET/CT is an advanced diagnostic exam that combines two technologies—positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT)—to provide both metabolic and structural information in a single scan. This allows physicians to see not only how organs and tissues look, but how they are functioning at a cellular level, making it especially effective for detecting abnormalities that may not be visible on standard imaging alone.

At our Port Charlotte location, PET/CT is commonly used for cancer detection, staging, and treatment monitoring, as well as select cardiac and neurological evaluations. By identifying changes in metabolic activity, this exam helps providers diagnose conditions earlier, assess how treatments are working, and make more informed decisions throughout the care journey.

CT scan clinic

CT Scan (Computed Tomography)

CT imaging uses advanced X-ray technology and computer processing to create detailed cross-sectional images of the body, allowing physicians to evaluate bones, organs, and soft tissues with precision. This fast and highly effective exam is commonly used to assess trauma, detect infections, evaluate internal bleeding, and diagnose complex medical conditions.

At our Port Charlotte center, CT scans are performed using 128-slice CT technology, which enables rapid image acquisition and high-resolution detail. This is particularly valuable in urgent or time-sensitive situations, where fast and accurate results are essential for guiding immediate care decisions.

Additional Exams:

  • Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) – Provides detailed imaging of blood vessels to detect blockages and vascular conditions
  • CTA Heart Angiogram – Evaluates coronary arteries and supports advanced cardiac assessment
  • FFR (Fractional Flow Reserve) Plaque Analysis – Provides advanced assessment of coronary artery disease by evaluating the functional significance of lesions and enabling precise plaque characterization for improved diagnostic accuracy
Walk in X-ray

X-Ray (Walk-In Available)

Digital X-ray is a fast and effective imaging method used to evaluate bones, lungs, and other internal structures. This widely used diagnostic exam helps identify fractures, infections, and chest conditions while using minimal radiation exposure. We offer walk-in X-ray services, allowing patients to receive prompt care without scheduling an appointment—ideal for same-day needs such as minor injuries, respiratory concerns, or routine diagnostic screening.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses sound waves to create real-time images of internal organs and blood flow, making it a safe, radiation-free option for many diagnostic needs. At Port Charlotte, we perform a wide range of ultrasound exams, including abdominal, vascular, and specialty studies, providing reliable imaging for both screening and ongoing monitoring.

Additional Exams:

  • Breast Ultrasound – Provides detailed imaging of breast tissue for further evaluation
  • Echocardiography – Uses ultrasound to assess heart structure and function
DEXA bone density scan

DEXA Bone Density Scan

DEXA scans measure bone density and help assess the risk of osteoporosis. This quick, low-dose exam provides essential insights into bone health and supports preventive care, particularly for aging populations in the Port Charlotte area. DEXA imaging is commonly used to monitor bone loss over time and guide early intervention, helping physicians develop proactive treatment plans to reduce fracture risk and support long-term skeletal health.

3D mammogram

Mammography (3D Mammography Available)

We offer 3D mammography (tomosynthesis), an advanced screening tool that provides more detailed images of breast tissue compared to traditional methods. This technology improves early detection and diagnostic confidence while supporting a more comfortable patient experience. 3D mammography is especially effective in identifying abnormalities in dense breast tissue and reducing the need for follow-up imaging, making it an important part of routine breast cancer screening and preventive care.
