Your Treatment Options At Louisville CyberKnife
Louisville CyberKnife specializes in the use of SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy) and SRS (Stereotactic Radiosurgery) to treat malignant tumors and other conditions requiring radiation therapy.
Our team of skilled radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapists is committed to offering our patients individualized and thorough care. For the highest level of precision and accuracy in SRS and SBRT treatments, we employ the very latest in technology and treatment planning.
Cancerous tumors in the brain, spine, lung, liver, and other parts of the body can be treated with SRS and SBRT. High radiation doses are directly administered to the tumor during these treatments, with the exposure to nearby healthy tissue being kept to a minimum. Compared to conventional radiation therapy, this may lead to fewer side effects and a quicker recovery.
Our facility provides both SRS and SBRT treatments, and our staff will collaborate with you to choose the best course of action for your unique requirements. While SBRT is often used for larger tumors in the body, like those found in the lung, liver, and spine, SRS is typically utilized for small, well-defined tumors in the brain and spinal cord.
The non-invasive procedures are usually completed in a limited number of sessions, each lasting only a few minutes. Since they are performed as outpatient procedures, patients can go home the same day.
A cancer diagnosis can be stressful, and our staff is here to help you while you proceed with your treatment. To achieve the best outcomes, we offer in-depth patient education, emotional support, and follow-up treatment.
We urge you to book a consultation with one of our specialists so we can discuss your treatment options and decide whether SRS or SBRT could be the best solution for your condition. We look forward to helping you on your road to recovery.
